West Australian Kim Felton whose professional career has, as yet, not reached the heights that most people had expected, has won his first Australasian Tour event by beating Victorian Euan Walters in a playoff. Felton had missed the opportunity to win outright by three-putting the last of regulation play but was still able to go on and win.
Felton, who won his West Australian Open last year, although it was not at that stage a full Australasian Tour event, now has exemption for the next two seasons on the Australasian Tour and he can now head to Asia once again when that tour restarts, with even more confidence. He has twice been second there this season and has shown that he slowly but surely finding his feet in professional golf after an amateur career that saw him win the Australian Amateur and finish third in the Australian Masters.
Euan Walters was second with Adrian Percy also an Asian Tour player tied in third with Michael Long whose good finish will give him a boost as he heads back to the US. His first season on the US Tour has been a battle to date.
Gary Simpson, Steve Collins, Craig Carmichael and Nathan Gatehouse were fifth.
