The peerless form of Steven Bowditch shows no signs of letting up in the National Bank Victorian PGA Championship.
The overnight co-leader quickly moved into the outright lead after grabbing early birdies on two of the first three holes to reach 10 under par.
Victorian Cameron Percy climbed a little higher up the leader board to join course record holder Andrew Pitt in equal second place three shots behind Bowditch.
Young Novocastrian Aaron Townsend set alight the wonderful Sanctuary Lakes layout, reaching the turn in 30 shots to be seven under through 45 holes.
Townsend has already had a successful week, winning the pro-am teams event on Tuesday in partnership with key representatives of the Melbourne sports media.
The diminutive Heath Reed kick-started his third round in real style with a hole-in-one on the dangerous second hole, a spectacular par three with a water hazard hugging the right side of the green.
