Victorian Matthew Milne holds a two stroke lead heading into the second round of the Bega Cheese NSW PGA Championship. Milne took advantage of the morning calm conditions firing seven birdies and an eagle.

“Conditions were perfect out there, tailor made for scoring with receptive greens and only a breath of wind.”

Milne spectacular round came with a little luck as he pitched in for eagle at the 12th and holed some long putts that he described as “snakes”.

Milne maintained his two stroke lead over Nathan Green and Tony McFadyean as the afternoon field struggled to adapt to the freshening winds.

New South Welshman Richard Swift had the round of the afternoon shooting a four under 69 around the tough Tura Beach layout. Swift currently in a tie for 15th will be looking to make the most of the morning conditions in Round Two.

Former USA Amateur Champion Nick Flanagan and now duel sport professional Scott Draper produced solid rounds of two under 71 around Pambula Merimbula to put them in a tie for 40th.

Round two continues tomorrow at both the Pambula Merimbula and Tura Beach Courses with tee times from 7:30am till 12:50pm.
