Kiwi Mathew Holten leads Riversdale Cup

Waikato golfer Mathew Holten has a one shot lead after the opening round of the international Riversdale Cup international in Melbourne today.
The Te Aroha player shot a superb six-under par 66 to lead the prestigious field including international teams from UK, Scotland, England, USA, Singapore, Korea, New Zealand as well as Australia best.
Holten has a one shot lead over South Australia’s David Lutterus, with a further shot back to Mitchell Brown (New South Wales) at the Riversdale Golf Club.
Fellow Waikato player Mark Purser continued his recent outstanding form to shot a three-under 69 to be in a share of fourth place with three players including world junior champion Jason Day (Queensland).
Brad Iles, who won the foursomes with Holten on Thursday), fired a one-over par 73 while fellow Bay of Plenty golfer Josh Geary had a five-over 77.
