Overnight leader Adam Bland recorded a six under par 67 to retain the lead in the NSW PGA Championship at the Pambula Merimbula Golf Course. Newcastle’s Nathan Green recorded the low round of the day with a seven under 66 to put him in a tie for second, three behind Bland.

Green finished with a flurry, birdying four of the last five holes to accelerate him up the leader board into a tie for second and will be joining Bland and Flint in the final group of the tournament. Green, a player with US Nationwide Tour experience will surely be a player to watch tomorrow.

Bland, playing in only his second professional tournament showed great concentration and composure to record his 67 on a day where scoring required patience and timing. Bland leads by three strokes at an impressive 18 under par.

Nick Flanagan began strongly, completing the front nine in five under par before bogeying two of the last three to finish with 68, nine shot behind the leader.

The smooth and receptive Pambula Merimbula greens, combined with five Par 5’s provide excellent scoring opportunities and may result in tomorrows champion coming from somewhere in the pack.

The final round tees of from 8:40 Sunday morning with the leading group of Bland, Green and Flint teeing off at 11:40am
