In an interview with iseekgolf.com’s Bruce Young today, USPGA Tour rookie, and successful one at that, John Senden, has indicated that he will play the Queensland Open at the Ipswich Golf Club in the last week of October.

Speaking from San Antonio in Texas where he is playing in this week’s Valero Texas Open, Senden said he planned to have a five week break between his return from the US in early October following the Las Vegas event with just the Queensland Open as the warm up for events such as the Australian Open, the PGA and the Mastercard Masters.

The 31-year-old has had a marvellous first season winning $US540,000 already and very importantly retaining his Tour card for next year. He has had an excellent run the last few weeks with three top twenties in his last four starts and consolidating his position on the money list.

His increased profile in the game will make him a welcome addition to the Queensland Open field.
