Andrew Dodt and compatriot Mitchell Brown are all square after 13 holes of the all-Australian final at the New Zealand Amateur Golf Championships in Palmerston North today.
The Australian pair had to cope with a southerly blast that brought rain and cold temperatures to the Hokowhitu course this morning.
Brown started slowly with a bogey at the opening hole of the 36-hole final but recovered to square the match with a birdie on the par-5 seventh hole. The Sydneysider double-bogied the par-3 eighth hole to give Dodt the 1-up advantage at the turn.
Dodt dropped his first shot at the par-3 11th hole to square the match and made an excellent 4m putt to halve the par-4 12th, while both players missed birdie chances at the par-4 13th.
