Defending champion Julia Boland has streaked to an eight shot lead at the Ladies Lake Macquarie Amateur.
While others struggled in the blustery south easterly at the seaside Belmont Course in Newcastle, Boland had no trouble shooting a three under round of 69 for a 216 total.
A masterful four under on the back nine has set Boland up for back-to-back championships heading into tomorrow’s final round.
Second round co-leader Jessica Noh didn’t have the day she was hoping for ending her round seven over 79 and is in second place, one shot ahead of Whitney Hillier who fired off a six over round of 78 today.
The Lake Macquarie Amateur is the third event in the Karrie Webb series. A win tomorrow would catapult Boland up the leaderboard, where she currently sits 29th.
