Johnson wins storm affected AT&T

Dustin Johnson has won the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro Am without a shot being fired in anger on what was to have been the final day of the delayed event.

The final round had originally been called off on Sunday due to storm damage and 60 mph winds, but tournament officials made the decision to abandon the final round completely after heavy rains overnight made the Pebble Beach layout unplayable.

For Johnson it was his second victory in four months having won the Turning Stone Resort Championship in his rookie season last year.

Mike Weir continued his good recent form by claiming second position while early leader, Retief Goosen finished third.

Jason Day was the best of the Australians in the field finishing in a share of 14th and earning a cheque for US$94,550.

Aron Price was 33rd, Marc Leishman and Mathew Goggin 55th and Jarrod Lyle 69th.

The PGA Tour will now move down the Californian coast to Pacific Palisades just outside of Los Angeles for this week’s Northern Trust Open at the Riviera Country Club.
