Australia’s leading amateurs, Stacey Keating and Julia Boland, hold a share of the lead after the first round of the Australian Stroke Play Championships being played at the Brisbane Golf Club.

Both girls fired off two under rounds of 70 to hold a one shot lead over South Australia’s Ebony Heard, who sits at one under 71.

Internationals Annie Choi of Korea and New Zealand’s Caroline Bond are in equal fourth on even par, while Western Australia’s Whitney Hillier is placed in outright sixth on one over 73.

12-year-old Korean Su-Hyun Oh again impressed with a two over 74. Last month she was the youngest ever qualifier at the Australian Open.

The second round of the Australian Stroke Play continues tomorrow. The top 32 will then qualify for the Match Play Championships to be contested at Royal Queensland next week.
