Another solid round has Julia Boland three shots clear heading into the final day of the Australian Stroke Play Championships at the Brisbane Golf Club tomorrow.
Boland, Australia’s number two ranked amateur, shot an even par 72 today, to lead Ebony Heard by three after the South Australian fired off a one over 73.
Victoria’s Stacey Keating would be disappointed with her three over 75 today, which saw her slip four shots behind NSW’s Boland, to sit on a three round total of 219.
A tough competitor, Boland knows how to close out a tournament and will be hard to shake tomorrow. She is the only player under par for the three rounds and will be keen to add the Australian Stroke Play to her growing list of victories.
At equal fourth and five shots off the lead on 220, are a host of players including internationals Zoe Brake from New Zealand, Korea’s Annie Choi and Japan’s Saki Suzuki.
Tapei’s Pei-Ying Tsai and Queensland pair, Bree Arthur and Ashley Ona are also on 220. Ona has been steadily improving throughout the week, with rounds of 76, 74 and 70.
After tomorrow’s round the top 32 will then qualify for the most prestigious title, the Australian Amateur, which kicks off on Monday at Royal Queensland.
