Aussies dominate Melwood Prince field

The Nationwide Tour moves north to Mitchelville near Washington D.C. in Maryland for this week’s Melwood Prince George’s County Open at the Arnold Palmer designed Country Club at Woodmore.

The tournament is being played for the third occasion, Paul Claxton and Jeff Klauk being the two winners to date.

Michael Sim, Garth Mulroy and Alex Prugh, are the leading three players on this year’s Nationwide Tour money list are in this week’s field. Sim is looking for that all important third victory of the season, Mulroy continues his consistent year and Alex Prugh seems to be returning to the form that won him the 2009 New Zealand Open.

Once again a Nationwide Tour event is stacked full of Australasians. Other than Sim those players include Steve Alker, Adam Bland, Andrew Bonhomme, Steve Bowditch, Andrew Buckle, Gavin Coles, Stuart Deane, Nick Flanagan, Scott Gardiner, Josh Geary, Paul Gow, Bradley Iles, Stephen Leaney, Won Joon Lee, David McKenzie, Cameron Percy, Ewan Porter, Alistair Presnell, Andre Stolz, Phil Tataurangi and Grant Waite.
