David McKenzie continues to lead the Knoxville Open after a third round of 67 extended his lead to three over the inform Kevin Johnson.
McKenzie recorded five birdies in ten holes in the middle of his round to establish a healthy cushion over Johnson who won at the recent Rex Hospital Open.
Mckenzie has been a regular and consistent performer on the Nationwide Tour since playing that Tour fulltime for the first time in 2001. His only win came in 2005 at the Gila River Classic but he has often been inside the top ten and better. McKenzie graduated to the PGA Tour in 2006 but has been back on the Nationwide since. A win this week would assist his cause in his quest for a second tilt at the PGA Tour.
Bradley Iles is the next best of the Australasians in 10th position but eight behind McKenzie while Cameron Percy continues his good run in 22nd position at 9 under.
