Mizuno Open offers Open starts

The Japan Golf Tour’s Gateway to the Open Mizuno Open Yomiuri Classic at the Yomiuri Country Club’s West Course in Hyogo Prefecture this weekend offers the leading four players in the event a start at the Open Championship at Turnberry.
The tournament brings to together most of the leading players on this season’s money list along with Japan’s stars Shingo Katayama, Toru Taniguchi, Ryo Ishikawa and the man who did so well last week in New York, Azuma Yano. Yano finished runner up in this event last year.
Brendan Jones is the leading foreigner in Japan this season at 5th on the money list although the defending champion, Thailand’s Prayad Marksaeng, based on his two third placed finishes earlier in the season, is a chance to successfully defend.
David Smail returns from his unsuccessful trip to the US Open to more familiar ground for him, Eddie Lee, Nathan Uebergang, Steve Conran, Paul Sheehan, Wayne Perske, Richard Tate and Steve Jeffress make up the Australasian list.
