Three Australians have qualified for the world’s most prestigious amateur, the US Amateur to be held next month.

Stacey Keating, Julia Boland and Leanne Bowditch have made it through their sectional qualifying events and will now take on the world’s best amateurs at Old Warson Country Club in Missouri from August 3.

Keating fired off a brilliant 69 to finish equal top qualifier at the Missouri Bluffs Golf Club while her travelling partner, Julia Boland was the fourth best qualifier with a round of 72.

Leanne Bowditch, who was a student at Pepperdine University, also qualified with a 70 and third position at Annandale Golf Club in Pasadena, California.

Boland and Keating will now head to Pinehurst in North Carolina for the North and South Amateur.  The pair will be trying to keep the Putterboy trophy in Australian hands after Kristie Smith won the event last year.
