Weather delays at Canadian Open

The opening two rounds of the Canadian Open at Glen Abbey have been disrupted by weather and darkness delays and as a result the second round will not be completed until Saturday, weather permitting.
Not one player has completed their second round in fact many have yet to even start. The delay is likely to mean a congested day on Sunday with as many as 36 holes required to ensure a 72 hole tournament.
When play was finally called for the day at 7.30pm with the threat of bad weather looming again, Jerry Kelly had taken the lead by one at 11 under over Camilo Villegas, Martin Laird, Tim Herron and Nathan Green. Kelly birdied what would be his final hole of the day to move ahead of a five way tie for the lead.
Green has missed his last two cuts but after an opening round of 68 yesterday he opened his second round with four consecutive birdies to challenge for the lead. Through just 12 holes of his round Green has required just 13 putts and with three par fives still left to negotiate when he returns on Saturday morning he could be on his way to a very low round.
Other Australians doing well are Jason Day in 17th position at 4 under and Steve Elkington in 33rd position at 4 under. With so many still to either start or complete their rounds it is hard to get a feel for those who could still do well although three or possibly under is appearing as a likely cut score tomorrow.
