Last Aussies out of Women's US Amateur

Australia has no representatives left at the US Amateur after both Leanne Bowditch and Stacey Keating were bundled out in the round of 32 today.
Bowditch had a chance to make it through after being all square on the 17th against Cyra Marie Rodriquez but a bogey on the 18th cost her any chance of victory.
After a brilliant 3 under round yesterday, Stacey Keating couldn’t recapture that form today and was behind early in her match against Canada’s Maude-Aimee Le Blanc.
A double bogey on the 320m par four 2nd gave Le Blanc an early advantage even though she bogeyed the hole.
Although Le Blanc birdied the 342m par four 4th hole, Keating then gave Le Blanc a 3 up advantage with another bogey on the very next hole.
Three down after five holes is always difficult to peg back but Keating gave it her all and retrieved the match to 1 down after 7 but another birdie by Le Blanc and a bogey by Keating on the 10th , meant Le Blanc was back out to a 3 up advantage with eight to play.
Le Blanc then just played smart par golf on the way home, eventually securing a 4 & 2 win with a birdie on the 445m par five 15th.
The highest seed remaining is number 2 Jessica Korda, son of Czech tennis great Petr Korda.
After scraping through her first round to a 1up victory, she put the foot down today with a resounding 6 & 5 win.
Only four of the top ten seeds remain in the hunt for amateur golf’s most prestigious trophy, which will conclude with a 36 hole final on Sunday at the Old Warson Country Club in St Louis Missouri.
