Boros leads, McKenzie 4th at NE Penn

44-year-old Guy Boros leads the North East Pennsylvania Classic in Moscow in Pennsylvania, a brilliant second round of 64 opening up a two shot lead over Henrik Bjornstad and non-member Kevin Chappell.
Boros has mixed his play between the PGA and Nationwide Tours this season but has little to show for his efforts until now. A winner on the PGA Tour in 1996 and with three Nationwide victories to his name, Boros is certainly experienced enough to handle the situation but with a best of 20th in 17 starts on either tour this year he will need to continue this improvement if he is to figure on Sunday.
A fine player when he attended the UCLA, Chappell has missed the cut in all three Nationwide Tour events he has been able to access this season but did finish 6th at the AT&T Pebble Beach event earlier this year on the PGA Tour. Clearly a significant talent this is a great opportunity for him to advance his cause.
David McKenzie leads the Australasians in 4th position and only two from Boros’ lead. Currently 41st on the money list in 2009 a good week here could be crucial in McKenzie’s chances of returning to the PGA Tour.
New Zealander Bradley Iles stopped the rot to a large extent after a series of ordinary tournaments to make the cut and he is six from the lead in 19th position.
Cameron Percy finished runner up in this event last year and made a big move today with a second round of 65 to be in 29th position at 2 under an improvement of nearly 100 positions.
Won Joon Lee 45th and Paul Gow 58th complete the Australians making the cut.
