Nordqvist leads Safeway Classic

Anna Nordqvist leads after 36 holes of the Safeway Classic in Portland in Oregon, adding a second round of 69 to her opening 65 to lead by one over Seon Hwa Lee and Ai Miyazato with one round to play.
Nordqvist, who is in her rookie LPGA Tour season, is looking to add a second title to the McDonald’s LPGA Championship she won in June.
Michele Redman and Suzann Pettersen are next at 8 under and just two from the lead.
The best of the Australians to date is Lindsey Wright who is in 27th position, Anna Rawson is 46th and Rachel Hetherington 58th.
Surprisingly both Katherine Hull and Karrie Webb fell victim to the cut and Sarah Kemp agonisingly double bogeyed the last to miss by one shot.
