Shut the gate as the Tiger has bolted

A stunning third round of 62 and a 54 total of 16 under have given Tiger Woods a seven shot lead at the BMW Championship in Lemont, Illinois and his fifth title at Cog Hill now appears a formality.
Despite a bogey at his very first hole today, when he his tee shot finished in the fairway bunker and he missed the green, Woods ran amok from there recording eight birdies and an eagle to gap the field.
Australian rookie Marc Leishman and Brandt Snedeker, at 9 under, might be excused for wondering what has hit them as both have played a great week of golf to date but have little hope it would seem of catching the leader.
Woods will play with Brandt Snedeker in tomorrow’s final round while Leishman will play with one of the two players at 8 under, Matt Kuchar. Padraig Harrington is also at 8 under as he continues his good play of late.
John Senden is the next best of the Australians in a share of 6th at 7 under. Robert Allenby improved with a round of 67 to be at 3 over, Geoff Ogilvy went the other way with a round of 75 to be at 4 over, Jason Day is at 6 over and Nathan Green at 7 over.
On current projections, Geoff Ogilvy, Marc Leishman and John Senden could make the top 30 to advance to the Tour Championship in two weeks time but things could change dramatically tomorrow in that regard.
