In form Campbell qualifies for US Open

Michael Campbell continued his return to top form when he qualified for next week's US Open in England today.
Campbell finished in s share of fifth place to be one of nine players to make it through the 36-hole sectional qualifier at Walton Heath in Surrey.
The Kiwi, who finished 15th in the Wales Open yesterday to climb to 18th place on the European Order of Merit, shot a two round total of 139, five-under par.
Campbell will venture back over the Atlantic after leaving the US Tour in 2003 after a string of poor performances. He missed the cut at the US Open and Masters last year although finished top-50 at the US PGA.
He bounced back after missing his first five cuts this year with five top-15 finishes including third at the Johnnie Walker in Beijing and fourth in the British Masters.
Sweden's Peter Hanson and Jonathan Lomas of England will make their US Open debuts after sharing top billing in the first European Qualifier today, finishing at 10-under par for 36 holes to guarantee their places in the field for the US Open Championship at Pinehurst No.2 in North Carolina on Thursday week.
A total of nine places were secured over the Old and New Courses at Walton Heath, with Hanson and Lomas being joined by England's Simon Dyson (137), Søren Kjeldsen of Denmark (138) and a group of five player on 139, including Campbell, Nick Dougherty of England, Peter Hedblom and Robert Karlsson of Sweden and Portugal's Jose-Filipe Lima.
Australia's Marcus Fraser claimed the first alternate place while Auckland-based Australian Peter Fowler is third alternate.
