Woods leads in Atlanta

Tiger Woods may have bogeyed the par three 18th at the East Lake Golf Club and missed a few opportunities late in round two of the Tour Championship, but with the 36 hole lead he appears the man most likely to not only win this week but to take out the FedEx Cup. He was before the event but now, with the lead and in the manner in which he is playing, he is appears even more likely.
Woods leads by one over Padraig Harrington and Sean O’Hair and it may well be that Woods and Harrington may yet settle down to battle out the title over the closing 36 holes. It would be a fitting end to a domestic season during which the pair have often traded blows in recent weeks.
Sean O’Hair led after an opening round of 66 and today bounced back from a slow start with two late birdies for a round of 70 and retains a chance of an upset.
Ernie Els continued his recent improvement with a strong finish to his second round to move into 4th place and just three behind.
John Senden’s approach to eight feet or so at the par five 15th set up and eagle which got him back to even par and he is well enough positioned to finish off what has already been a good season in great style. He leads the three Australians.
Marc Leishman had a rough day starting with a double bogey at the 3rd and two bogeys to finish. At 4 over, he is in 25th position although, at 8 over, Geoff Ogilvy is in last place in the 30 player field.
