Quinn continues form at WNB Classic

BY Bruce Young | Nationwide Tour | 2009 WNB Golf Classic | Round Two | 26 Sep 2009

Two weeks ago 44-year-old Fran Quinn was languishing amongst the also-rans on the Nationwide Tour. A win last week in Boise turned his season around and now at the halfway stage of the WNB Classic in Midland, Texas, he again leads a Nationwide Tour event, a top three finish this week likely enough to secure his ticket to the PGA Tour in 2010.

Quinn leads by one over Arjun Atwal who has somehow found some form after what has been a horror run in recent months. Atwal put together ten birdies in his round of 64 to get within striking distance of Quinn.

Garrett Willis and Jason Schultz are tied for third just two behind the lead.

Victorian Cameron Percy improved his already good chances of making the PGA Tour next year by adding a round of 67 to move into a share of 19th position and leads the Australasians along with Adam Bland, Steve Bowditch and Scott Gardiner are in 27th position and Won Joon Lee 39th,
