Na Yeon Choi held on to defeat Yani Tseng at the Hana Bank Kolon Championship in Korea and in doing headed the young lady who had beaten her to the LPGA rookie of the year title in 2008, Tseng, and Sweden’s Maria Hjorth.

Choi birdied her final hole of the day and claimed her second LPGA Tour title in her last three starts the other coming at the Samsung World Golf Championship in California.

Hjorth appeared the likely winner when she raced to the turn in 31 and at that point she shared the lead with Tseng at 9 under and one ahead of Choi. Choi would finish the stronger however and claimed the US$255,000 first prize.

Lindsey Wright 25th and Katherine Hull were the only two Australians in the field.

The event was the first of a two leg swing for the LPGA in Asia, the second coming up this week at the Mizuno Open in Mie, Japan when it joins forces with the Japan LPGA Tour.
