Jim Furyk has won the Chevron Challenge defeating Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell by a narrow one shot in what turned into a tight finish with as many as six or seven players had a chance to win over the closing few holes in the 18 man field.

Furyk followed up some good recent form with his first win in more than two years, albeit in a restricted field event. He holed a five foot birdie putt at the 18th to take the outright after he had made a huge par saving putt at the 17th to maintain the lead he created early in the back nine.

Lee Westwood and Padraig Harrington finished in a share of third while four players all tied in 4th place at 9 under.

PGA Champion, Y.E. Yang, led into the final round but faltered with a round of 74.
