Australian Amateur Champion Justine Lee has fired a blistering 4 under 68 to take the lead at the halfway mark of the Ladies Lake Macquarie Amateur at Newcastle’s Belmont Golf Course.

Lee now holds a two shot advantage over Victorian Elissa Orr who backed up her two under round of 70 yesterday with an even par 72 today.

West Australia’s Jessica Speechley was the big mover on the day after a two under round of 70 to place her in third position equal, with Victoria’s Stacey Keating.

Julia Boland, aiming for her third Lake Macquarie Amateur in a row, is a shot further back on two over 146 and in fifth place.

The Lake Macquarie Amateur is a national ranking event. The 72 hole tournament concludes on Sunday.
