Couples wins, Senior 11th in Florida

Fred Couples has won his first Champions Tour event with a narrow one shot victory over another new recruit to the Champions Tour, Tommy Armour III, at the Ace group Championship in Naples, Florida.
Couples finished runner-up on his Champions Tour debut a month ago, this victory further confirming that he is destined to become a prolific winner amongst the over fifties.
Both players were brilliant in their final rounds, Armour reeling off a round of 61 and Couples a 64, their domination of the event highlighted by the fact that there was a gap of seven shots back to the third placed Scott Hoch.
Australian Peter Senior made a solid start to his rookie Champions Tour season finishing in share of 11th and pocketing US$32,000 to get his career at this level underway.
Graham Marsh was the only other Australian in the field and finished 64th.
