Chinese golfer Wen-chong Liang has extended his one shot overnight lead to three at the OneAsia Tour’s Luxehills Chengdu Open in Chengdu in China, adding a second round of 66 to his opening round of 64.

Liang played in the morning group in round two and birdies at his opening two holes quickly stated the 31 year old’s intentions. Liang was again bogey free today, the class of the leading world ranked player in this week’s field very much in evidence.

Two players share second position at the half way stage namely the Korean teenager Bio Kim and Australian Kurt Barnes, Barnes’ afternoon round of 64 the round of the day.

Barnes is only two weeks away from his debut as a cardholder on the Japan Golf tour while Kim was the 2008 Amateur Champions of Korea and Japan.

One shot further back are the 2009 Australian Amateur Champion Scott Arnold and fellow countryman Terry Pilkadaris.

Australasians Matthew Griffin, Steve Jones and David Smail are in a group at 9 under and in a share of 6th.

It took a score of 3 under to make the cut with 71 players making it through to the weekend.
