Kim joins Molder in lead in Houston

BY Bruce Young | US PGA Tour | 2010 Shell Houston Open | Round Three | 04 Apr 2010

Anthony Kim has joined the 36 holder leader, Bryce Molder, in the lead at the completion of 54 holes at the Shell Houston Open, the pair establishing a two shot lead over Vaughn Taylor and Joe Ogilvie.

Of those four players, only Kim has a start at next week’s Masters and with one final spot at Augusta available to this week’s winner, much is at stake in tomorrow’s final round.

Kim recovered from two early bogeys today for a round of 69 and continues some good form of late. With a superb debut at Augusta National last year, during which he produced a record 11 birdies in one round, Kim has him game in great shape for next week. His immediate task however is to win tomorrow and he has created a great chance to do just that.

Cameron Percy is the leading Australian although two late bogeys could prove costly in the final outcome tomorrow. He is at 6 under and in a share of 8th position four behind the lead.

Adam Scott is one further back at 5 under while Stuart Appleby’s round of 74 to be at even par put an end to his one last chance of playing his 14th consecutive Masters. David Lutterus is also at even par while Aaron Baddeley is at 4 over.
