Senior runner-up in Alabama

Peter Senior recorded his best finish to date in his rookie season on the Champions Tour when he finished joint runner-up behind Dan Forsman at the Regions Charity Classic in Hoover Alabama.
Senior opened with a round of 65 on Friday and stayed in touch with a second round of 66. In today’s final round he began with four birdies in his first six holes but while the back nine had been his friend on the opening two days, he was unable to buy a putt over the closing stages.
He would par the final 12 holes to finish three shots behind Forsman and in a share of second with Japanese golfer Joe Ozaki.
Senior had made a solid but unspectacular start to his Champions Tour career with the 11th place finish at the opening event of the season the Ace Classic his best to date. This week’s effort will however nearly double his season’s earnings to date taking that total to US$293,000.
Senior, the leading qualifier at last year’s Champions Tour qualifying school, is now in 17th position on the 2010 money list.
