Cameron Percy has claimed a start at the 2010 Open Championship when he survived a playoff for the final place in US based qualifying for the event starting on July 15th at St Andrews.

The qualifying took place at the Gleneagles Golf Club in Plano in Texas and took place between the Dallas and Fort Worth events.

Percy birdied the third extra hole to edge out Charley Hoffman and Bubba Watson.

It will be Percy’s second appearance at the Open Championship and his second in major championship golf having missed the cut at the 2003 Open Championship at Royal St Georges.
