Four more Australians joined the seven already qualified for next week’s US Open at Pebble Beach when Sectional Qualifying at all but one of the 13 US venues was completed today.

Stuart Appleby, Terry Pilkadaris and Aaron Baddeley were amongst the 15 players to qualify in Columbus, Ohio while Stephen Allan earned one of the two places available at his venue.

They join Geoff Ogilvy, Robert Allenby, Adam Scott, Michael Sim, Marc Leishman, John Senden and Paul Sheehan in the event which starts on June 17th.

Victorian Jarrod Lyle lost out in a five way playoff for the two final places at his venue in Memphis.

Steve Elkington still has a chance to make it through provided he plays well in tomorrow in the delayed second round at the Woodlands Golf Club in Houston. Elkington’s first round of two under par 70 has him in a share of 8th position.

New Zealander Michael Campbell is the only other Australasian with a start in the tournament, courtesy of a ten year exemption via his 2005 US Open victory.
