Keating into top 16 at UK Amateur

Stacey Keating is through to the last 16 of the British Amateur Championships being played in Yorkshire.
The 23-year-old’s game has improved as the week has progressed, her first round 9 over 82 a distant memory as she saw off the number three seed Giulia Molinaro in the morning matchplay round, 1 up.
In the afternoon, Keating again battled her way around the Ganton course to a 1 up win and will now meet Switzerland’s 51st seed, Fanny Vuigner for a place in the quarterfinals.
The only other Australian in the match play, West Australia’s Jessica Speechley lost in the first round, 2 down, to England’s Charlotte Ellis.
The tournament’s top seed, Caroline Hedwall remains in the draw joined by the only other remaining top ten player, Scotland’s Sally Watson into the round of 16.
