England’s Kelly Tidy has won the British Amateur defeating Scotland’s Kelsey MacDonald 2 & 1 at Yorkshire’s Ganton Golf Club.

It was an impressive win by the 18-year-old who was behind until the 14th when she retrieved the match to all square.

It gave her the momentum she needed, immediately winning the par 5 15th and the par 4 16th to be dormie 2 at the 17th.

A square on the par three handed her the match 2 & 1.

The win now means Tidy will get a start at the Ricoh British Open on her home course of Royal Birkdale starting late next month.
