Scrivener best Aussie at Northeast Am

Jason Scrivener finished the best of the Australians in 17th position in the Northeast Amateur at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rhode Island, USA.
Scrivener fired rounds of 70-68-71-72, to finish 5-over-par, eleven strokes behind eventual winner Joseph Bramlett, who shot a 6-under 270 to win by two shots from US Public Links champion, Brad Benjamin.
Bramlett carded rounds of 69-68-66-67 at the par-69 Wannamoisett Country Club to claim his first US major amateur tile. Previously before winning the Northeast Amateur, Bramlett’s best result was a 7th finish at the State Fair championship in California.
Queensland’s Tim Hart also secured a top-20 finish after rounds of 69-74-70-69 to be at 6-over-par. Ryan McCarthy followed at 9-over-par for a tied 33rd finish.
Bryden Macpherson, now a Freshman at the University of Georgia where the Melbourne native has been based since January, fired rounds of 72-75-69-72 to finish in a tie for 44th position at 12-over. Brendan Smith also finished well down the field in a tie for 59th position after rounds of 74-69-71-77.
