Kalem Richardson fired a second round 5-under-par, 67, to move up the leader board twenty-four places to be currently in a tie for 13th position and the best placed Australian at the Dogwood Invitational in Atlanta. He remains ten strokes behind current leader, Andrew Yun, at 16-under-par, following the American carding rounds of 66-62.

Richardson had opened with a 1-under-par, 71, yesterday and found his straps with his 5-under-par second round the fourth lowest score for the day.

“The course is playing really well and there is a lot of birdie chances out there,” remarked Richardson.

“I’m hitting the ball really well and today made a couple more putts that yesterday. It’s all coming down to pitching and putting this week and I seem to be pitching it well, so hopefully some more putts will drop for me over the rest of the tournament and we will see how things go.”

Tim Hart, the best of the Aussies following yesterday’s opening round to be in 9th position, fired a second round even-par 72 on a day when the majority of the field was shooting sub-par rounds. Hart finds himself at 5-under-par for the tournament and in a tie for 19th position.

First round leader and local player, Anders Albertson, followed his opening 9-under-par, 63, with a second round 66 to be currently in second position at 15-under-par, a stroke behind the leader Yun.

Kieran Pratt is the next best Australian behind Richardson and Hart currently in a tie for 19th position, after opening with a 2-under-par 70 and following that with a second round 69 to be at 5-under-par for the tournament.

Behind Pratt is Bryden Macpherson in a tie for 29th position at 3-under-par, after opening with an even-par 72 and carding a 3-under-par, 69, second round today. Macpherson’s game continues to be on the improve and he’s confident a low number is awaiting and can be had around the Druid Hills layout.

“I feel like my game is close to a low number, says Macpherson, a Freshman at the University of Georgia where the Melbourne native has been based since January.

“The course is set up awesome. So much fun. And it does suit me. So hopefully I’ll get a couple of low numbers in the next few days. But I’m just going out to play some golf and have some fun.”

Jason Scrivener is also currently in a tie for 29th position along with Macpherson after rounds of 71-70, a stroke ahead of Ryan McCarthy and Jordan Sherratt who have fired rounds of 68-74 and 71-71 respectively to be currently in a tie for 37th position.
