Korean golfer Na Yeon Choi has survived a four way playoff to win the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic at the Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania near Toledo.

The third round leader, Choi, appeared to have lost her chance of victory when, just as she had done yesterday, she bogeyed her 14th and 15th holes but she was able to birdie the final hole to join In Kyung Kim, Song Hee Kim and Christina Kim in the lead at 14 under.

Jiyai Shin finished alone in 4th position just one shot out of the playoff.

The playoff lasted only two holes before Choi secured her first win of the season and her third LPGA Tour title.

It has been an eventful week for the 22 year old as in addition to the win she takes away the memory of a hole in one at the 8th hole on Saturday.

Seven of the leading nine players were Koreans, American Christina Kim and Australia’s Katherine Hull the exceptions.

Hull finished in a share of 9th position, Sarah Kemp was 17th and Tamie Durdin 68th.

The LPGA Tour now moves east to Pennsylvania for this week’s US Women’s Open at the Oakmont Golf Club in Philadelphia.
