Callaway's Appleby shoots to win with 59
US PGA Tour | 2010 Greenbrier Classic | General | 04 Aug 2010
Callaway Staff Professional Stuart Appleby used a bag of Callaway equipment to become the fifth player in PGA Tour history to shoot 59 and, in the process, win the Greenbrier Classic by a stroke on Sunday.
Appleby uses the FT Tour Driver (8.5 degrees), a Diablo Edge Tour 15-degree Fairway Wood, an X-Forged 3-iron, X-Prototype Irons (4-PW), X-Forged Wedges (54- and 58-degree), the Tour i(z) Golf Ball, and the Odyssey White Hot XG 330 Mallet Putter. He was on fire with the flat stick, making birdies on the final three holes.
Prior to his 11-under-par 59 on Sunday, Appleby shot 66-68-65 in the first three rounds. He finished the tournament 22-under-par at The Old White Course in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
“You don’t shoot a low number feeling a huge amount of indecision,” Appleby said. “I was just comfortable.”

It was Appleby’s first win since the 2006 Houston Open. His career low prior to Sunday was a 62 at the 2003 Las Vegas Invitational.
The second-place finisher at the Greenbrier also used the Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball Putter to finish at 21-under-par.
It was the second consecutive week that Odyssey has taken the top two spots on the PGA Tour.
Appleby’s win was the 13th of the season on the PGA Tour for Odyssey putters, more than any other manufacturer.
