Michael Putnam has today played his way back to the PGA Tour in 2011 courtesy of his final round of 67 to secure a victory at the Utah Championship at the Willow Creek Golf Club in Sandy, Utah.

Putnam played the PGA Tour in 2007 but by jumping 32 places to 15th on the money list this week he is assured of finishing inside the top 25 and returning to the big-time next season.

New Zealander Brad Iles, who led into today’s final round, eventually finished in a share of second place with Venezuela’s Jhonattan Vegas but the US$48,000 he earned for the week moves him 30 places on the money list and to the top of the list as far as the Australasian challenge in 2010 is concerned. Iles is now 33rd.

Mark Hensby was the next best of the Australians this week, finishing 17th while Jarrod Lyle was 24th.
