LPGA Tour rookie Beatriz Recari has today won the CVS LPGA Challenge to record her maiden win on the LPGA Tour.

The 23-year-old Recari was facing the prospect of a return to the LPGA’s Qualifying before today’s victory but her career has taken a dramatic turn, the win securing her full status on the LPGA Tour for a further two years during which time she will surely consolidate her career.

With only four cuts made in 14 starts to date this season, Recari had given little indication that she would be capable of a win of this significance so soon in her career but she held her form over the closing stages to win by one over yet another LPGA Tour rookie, France’s Gwladys Nocera.

Recari is blessed with stunning good looks and her win is sure to further enhance her already significant endorsement opportunities in the game.

In what was a good week for the Europeans, French golfer Karine Icher finished in a share of third with Michele Redman.

Australian Katherine Hull followed up her recent win in Alabama with another good tournament. She finished 10th a position she shared with Sarah Kemp, who kept her chances alive of retaining her playing privileges for 2011, and Karrie Webb.
