BY Bruce Young | LPGA Tour | 2010 KOLON-Hana Bank Championship | Preview | 27 Oct 2010

The LPGA Tour moves from Kuala Lumpur to Incheon near Seoul in Korea for this week’s LPGA Hana Bank Championship at the Sky 72 Golf Club.

The golf course, designed by the Nicklaus Group, will host this event for the third consecutive year, previous winners at this venue being Candie Kung and Na Yeon Choi, Choi defeating Yani Tseng and Maria Hjorth by just one shot last year.

50 players from the LPGA Tour are in the field along with 12 from the Korean LPGA and seven sponsor invites. More than half the field are of Korean heritage.

The newly crowned world number one Cristie Kerr heads the field but she is joined by Ji Yai Shin, Suzann Pettersen, Yani Tseng, Na Yeon Choi, Michelle Wie, In Kyung Kim and Paula Creamer so nine of the leading ten players in the world are in the field. Only Ai Miyazato is missing.

Katherine Hull is the leading Australian and having finished runner-up in the event two years ago. She will be joined by Lindsey Wright and Anna Rawson who surprisingly has a sponsor’s invite.

Sarah Jane Smith is the second alternate.
