Kim wins Lorena Ochoa Invitational

In Kyung Kim today won her third LPGA Tour event with a withering late charge to secure the Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Guadalajara Mexico.

Kim’s final round of 64 saw her finish three shots clear of the third round leader Suzann Pettersen.

Pettersen was brought undone by a double bogey at her 4th hole and although she recovered well the damage had been done. An outward nine of 30 swept Kim to the lead and she maintained the momentum, her only hiccup coming at the 17th when she bogeyed but her cushion was too great to change the outcome.

French golfer Karine Icher finished 3rd with world number three Cristie Kerr securing a birdie at the final hole to grab a share of 4th with Paula Creamer.

Karrie Webb was the best of the two Australians in the field finishing in a share of 10th while Katherine Hull was 22nd.

The LPGA Tour’s next event is the LPGA Championship beginning on December 2nd in Orlando.
