Australasian success at Stage Two

Thirteen Australasians have safely navigated their way through Stage Two of the PGA Tour School and will advance to the Final Stage to be held in Orange County in Florida commencing on December 1st.
Australians Matthew Goggin, Stephen Dartnall, Luke Hickmott, Mark Hensby, Peter Lonard, David McKenzie, Jake Younan-Wise, Adam Blyth, David Lutterus and New Zealanders Mike Hendry, Danny Lee, Steve Alker and Tim Wilkinson all finished inside the required mark at their respective venues.
Their task now, in order to secure one of the sought after 2011 PGA Tour cards, is to be one of the leading twenty five qualifiers at the Orange County National Golf Club near Orlando. A field of 152 or so will line up at the Final Stage.
Just by making it to the Final Stage they are all but guaranteed some level of status on the Nationwide Tour in 2011 but, clearly, a PGA Tour card is their main mission.
Peter Lonard, who has spent most of 2010 recovering from surgery following knee and hip surgery, was delighted to have made it through. “It was knife-edge stuff all the way,” he said as he drove back to his home in Orlando from his venue in Panama City in Florida. “I am looking forward to getting home, putting my feet on the lounge and having a beer. When I finished I was unsure if I had gotten through but was relieved to hear the tournament staff tell me my score was safely in.”
