American car giants Cadillac are the latest high profile company to enter into partnership with The European Tour after reaching an agreement to become the title sponsor of the 2005 Russian Open at Le Meridien Moscow Country Club.

The Cadillac Russian Open, from August 11-14, is the third dual ranking tournament on both the European Tour and Challenge Tour Schedules and will carry a prize fund of US$500,000, with the winner taking home $83,330 as well as a one year exemption to The 2006 European Tour.

Cadillac, whose involvement in the Russian Open coincides with the tournament’s tenth anniversary at Le Meridien Moscow Country Club, is set to officially launch the award winning Cadillac STS, which won the “Car Interior of the Year 2005” at the Auto Interiors Show 2005, to the Russian public at the Cadillac Russian Open.

Warren P. Browne, Executive Director of Cadillac Russia, said: “Winning on The European Tour takes dedication, inspiration, attention to detail and a constant drive to be better than the competition. Cadillac owners find these same values in their automobile. We are proud to be associated with the prestigious traditions of European Tour golf, and could not find a better place to show the brand new Cadillac STS to the Russian public.”

Keith Waters, Director of International Policy for The European Tour, echoed those thoughts. He said: “We are delighted to welcome Cadillac as the title sponsor of the Russian Open. To go into partnership with such a hugely successful company will ensure that the Russian Open maintains its high profile, and we are sure that Cadillac will bring their vast experience and professionalism to the tournament as we celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Russian Open.”
