Marino poised for breakthrough win

The cut has been made at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro Am and as the field heads into tomorrow’s fourth and final round Steve Marino, seeking his first PGA Tour victory, has a one shot lead over Jimmy Walker and Bryce Molder.

Marino played the Monterey Peninsula Golf Club and it proved to be a roller coaster with two birdies, an eagle and five bogeys recorded during his round of 71 to be at 12 under.

Marino first joined the PGA Tour 2007 and in 121 PGA Tour events to date he has been three times runner-up. Tomorrow he gets yet another opportunity to break through although with 16 players within five shots of the lead he will not rest easy tonight.

The leading Australians, Aaron Baddeley at 8 under and Matt Jones at 7 under are two of those players. Stuart Appleby is the next best at 6 under.
