Sim and Lutterus advance at US Amateur

The two Australians, who made the match play phase of the US Amateur Championship at Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania, have advanced to the second round of the match play following their victories today.

Michael Sim had a 2 & 1 victory over Georgian Mark Strickland while South Australian David Lutterus had an impressive 3 & 2 win over Californian Eddie Olson. Lutterus was even par when his match finished at the 16th hole while Sim was also even par when he shook hands at the 17th.

In tomorrow's second round Lutterus will play UCLA sophomore Kevin Chappell and Sim will play 18-year-old Matthew Swan who will join the University of Alabama this coming semester.
