Smith over Campbell at Aussie Stroke

Cameron Smith has a three stroke margin from New Zealand’s, Ben Campbell, following the second round of the Australian Amateur Stroke championships in Melbourne.
Smith has fired rounds of 66-71 to be at 7-under-par, with Campbell runner-up in the 2011 Australian Amateur, carding rounds of 71-69 to be at 4-under-par. Tim Hart, winner of the Federal Amateur a fortnight ago is in a share of 3rd position at 3-under-par along with Tim Frazer and Luke Humphries.
Bryden Macpherson remains in the hunt with the 2009 Australian Amateur Stroke champion carding rounds of 73-72 to be at 1-over-par and in a tie for 13th position, eight behind Smith. Brett Drewitt was another to make his move after opening with a 3-over-par 75 to be currently at 4-over-par and within the desired top-32 players for Monday’s match play rounds.
The cut was +7 which has Matt Stieger and Brady Watt inside the mark at 5-over-par and in a tie for 47th. Rory Burke and Jake Higginbottom also made the weekend to be on the cut mark at 7-over-par along with Monday’s winner at Riversdale, Nathan Holman who fired rounds of 70-81.
The third round begins on Saturday at Victoria Golf Club with the top-32 players following Sunday’s final round advancing to the Match Play section of the Australian Amateur Championship to be played at Victoria Golf Club.
