Lee plays Dewhurst in Amateur final

The finalists at the Srixon Australia Women’s Amateur Championship have been decided and tomorrow’s 36 hole contest will see Tasmania’s Ashlee Dewhurst up against Western Australia’s Minjee Lee at the Victoria Golf Club in Melbourne.

In this morning’s Quarter Finals, Lee easily accounted for defeated Korea’s Su Hyun Oh 5 & 4 before defeating one of the pre tournament favourites and world number one amateur, Cecilia Cho, in the Semi Final by the massive margin of 6 & 4.

Dewhurst defeated the 13 year old Australian Stroke-play Champion Lydia Ko in her Quarter Final this morning before outlasting Queen Sirkit Cup representative Jessica Speechley 2 & 1 to reach the
Dewhurst is the 2009 Riversdale Cup Champion while Lee is the current West Australian Amateur Champion, a title she won at the age of 14.

Lee has won all four matches to date by a margin of 4 & 3 or greater while Dewhurst has survived several tough battles to make it through.
