Furyk and Howell shoot low to share midway lead

Jim Furyk and Charles Howell III shot 65 a piece on different courses to share the lead midway through the second round of the $5 million Las Vegas Classic tournament. Furyk, a three-time winner of this event, fired a -6 (65) for his round at the TPC at The Canyons course. He has moved to -12 for his two rounds.
Howell, who won his first PGA title at the Michelob Championship last week, continued with his form to fire a -7 (65) for his round at the Southern Highlands course. He also sits at -12. Howell has been confirmed to play in Australia in November.
Jeff Sluman, Chris DiMarco, overnight co-leader Steve Jones and Frank Lickliter II closed in outright second at -11.
Kiwi Phil Tataurangi moved into a share of the ANZ lead following a second round off 66. He finished at -10 and in equal 8th alongside Steve Allan. Stuart Appleby lies another stroke back at -9 and 16th place with fellow Victorian Robert Allenby at -8 (T30).
