Two Australians miss US Open qualifying

Australians Terry Pilkadaris and Anthony Summers, both of who are in contention at the OneAsia Tour event in China this week, have withdrawn from the US Open Sectional Qualifying to be held this Monday.

Both had confirmed starts at their respective venues but their immediate playing future appears more important than a one off and perhaps long shot opportunity to play at Congressional Country Club in two weeks time.

Neither player could possibly make their tee times in California (Summers) and Ohio (Pilkadaris) and both players now focusing their attention on tomorrow’s final round of the Nashan China Masters.

After 54 holes in the event in China, Summers is in a share of 7th and Pilkadaris in a share of 11th position but both within striking distance of the leading pair, Scott Laycock and Michael Long.
